One Room Challenge Guest/Boys Room Week 5

Hello this week! I’m posting a bit late but you can see week 4 here and the rest of the guest participants here We worked on the trim, shelves and closet and got it all done pretty quickly which is so exciting! To actually have extra space has been awesome! I have so many ideas in my head and I need to start finishing them before I forget because my tired mom brain is something fierce right now!

Here are just a few pictures of the progress so far.

This is probably one of my favorite things we did, add shelves in the unused space behind the door. I would have loved to made a loft above the closets and into this space but yes I realize, that would have taken ALOT of work. Still would have been awesome though. I’ll be happy with the shelves.

This is the closet. We didn’t end up moving the pipes because I guess we still need them or something crazy like that. We painted them and I think it’s fine, they will be hidden by clothes.

We had to use these metal shelves because the breaker box is on that wall and we have to have access to it. The metal shelves can move right out whereas built ins, nope. I like it though, plus we needed more shelves anyway.

These are my favorite closet rods and we have used them in every closet we’ve done in this house. (Still need to touch up the paint)

Here is a pic of my kids helping with the floor. Ok fine, they were the ones that removed all the linoleum. Took forever but they did it. You can see the door corner and the awesome accordion closet doors from before. Guh. So much ugly. Just keep looking back at the kids and it makes it a little easier on the eyes.

Also we finished trimming it all out with extra barnwood we had. I really like the contrast. I bet pallets would work too.

So with so much white in here I’m thinking I need to add a little bit of contrast. Here are a few ideas and I would love to know what you think. Keep in mind this will eventually be the boys bedroom too.
